Docents:
At Farmington, volunteers serve as interpreters, greeting and conducting guided tours for our visitors. We have both regular (one day per week, bi-weekly, or monthly) and "on- call" (when large tour or student groups are scheduled) docents who assist in the house. There is a constant need for volunteers in this area.

The Gift Shop:
Farmington's Gift Shop contributes a great deal to the operating budget of the house each year. It is essential that we have volunteers to assist customers so that no sale is missed due to lack of service to the customer.

Special Events:
Throughout the year at Farmington there are special events such as the Plant Sale, Lunchtime Theater, and the Candlelight Tours, which all depend on volunteer help for their success.

The Garden:
Volunteers maintain the beautiful gardens at Farmington. Regular work days are Wednesday mornings early Spring through Fall. No particular skill level is needed. Volunteers wear their "grubbies" and meet at Farmington tending flowers, vegetables, old roses, and herbs. This is a great way to learn new gardening tricks as someone is always sharing tips.

Education:
Farmington offers diverse educational programs, tours, and seminars for both adults and students. Since Farmington represents the history of the early nineteenth century, we need persons to recreate demonstrations of the lifestyles of that time. If you have any interest or special talents along these lines, please join with us to present these activities.

For more information, please call Farmington at (502) 452-9920.
