ThunderFun! Barbecue

Preparations are under way for the annual ThunderFun! Barbecue, held in conjunction with Thunder Over Louisville on April 18. We are already looking forward to the delicious food to be prepared by Pepperwood Catering's Steve Bowles, the "King of Kentucky Barbecue!" Bring your appetite, because this year we will begin serving lunch at 1:30 pm, followed by appetizers at 4 and dinner at 6. Soft drinks and water will be served throughout the day, and beer and wine will be available after 5 p.m.

The air show starts at 3 pm and will continue until 9:30, when it's time for the main event-the fireworks! This year's theme is "Thunder Road," a tribute to the excitement of taking a road trip and exploring new destinations. What better way to finish off a day of food and fun at one of Louisville's greatest landmarks?

Make plans to join us this year! Tickets are $60 for adults and $30 for children ages 6-18 (children 5 and under are free). A limited number of reserved parking spaces are available for $10. Guests are free to come and go from Edison House, which is an easy walk to the waterfront. Enjoy hassle-free parking, the convenience of indoor restrooms and a comfortable place to view all the action. Butchertown Art Fair/Garden and House Tour

Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 17, when the Thomas Edison House will host the Garden & House Tour in conjunction with the Butchertown Neighborhood Association's Art Fair. Some of the finest gardens in Butchertown will be open to the public, and several of our neighbors will be opening their homes for tours so that visitors can see some of the most interesting architecture in Louisville. The Art Fair features dozens of local artists and craftspeople displaying and selling their works on Webster Street. Items range from paintings and drawings to jewelry, clothing, antiques and more! Live entertainment, food, and children's activities are all part of the fun. Both events will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Art Fair is free. Tickets for the Garden & House Tour are $10 and may be purchased at the museum or at the Art Fair. See you there!
